In our eyes, the packaging is JUST as important as the product itself.

Mastering product packaging is part of mastering product creation. If we want to create amazing and beautiful products, we cannot ignore the importance of packaging.

1. The value of your product increases

Packaging your product in a way that’s beautiful will instantly increase the value of your product.

Let’s say you order a $20 pen online. Website 1 sends the pen in a clear plastic bag. Website 2 sends the pen in a thick white box with the brand name engraved on the lid.

How do they make you feel?

It’s safe to say you’ll be much more excited to try the pen from Website 2 than Website 1!

Packaging increases the perception of value and it’s what will help you sell your products for more.

If you can increase the value of your product, you can sell it for more. And that will mean you’ll make more profit too.

Of course, packaging will cost extra but it shouldn’t cost too much more.

When people buy products online, the first thing they see when it arrives is the packaging. Make sure you include an image of your packaging along with your product in the main product listing image, as it could be the one thing that differentiates you and attracts shoppers to click on your listing. People buy gifts that look and feel special. And amazing packaging can add an extra layer of excitement and intrigue when it comes to opening a gift. So make your product giftable by focusing on the packaging.

That will put you in a good place during the busy Christmas period too. If you can capitalize on the hungry Christmas shoppers during the festive season, you’ll make more sales over Christmas… and more sales = more customers = more brand recognition, and most importantly = more revenue!
